Pigs are fun and easy to raise and grow to a good slaughter weight in just 6-8 months. Tamworth hogs are well adapted to cooler climate and thrive on pasture. They are active and sociable, and excel at land clearing. We keep 4 breeding sows and breed twice a year. Feeder piglets are $200 each and available for pick up at 6 weeks of age each spring and fall. Breeding stock, registered with the Tamworth Swine Association, is also available for those who are familiar with raising pigs and interested in starting their own herd. Piglets selected as breeding stock are guaranteed pick of the litter and cost $400 each.
Ready to Lay Chickens
Young hens are called "pullets" and start to lay eggs at about 6 months of age. If you are considering starting your own flock of laying hens, or looking to replace older birds, without going through the trouble of brooding chicks, we sell ready to lay pullets. We raise Rhode Island Reds, Plymouth Barred Rock, and Black Australorp chickens as our primary egg layers. These breeds are very productive and active birds. Contact us for more information about what breeds will be available for sell this coming spring. Pullets are $44 each.
